Duo for Violin and Piano
New York: National Blue Print Co, 1942. 11 by 13-1/2 inches. An early printed edition of this work, issued on blue-print paper, reproducing Sessions' handwritten score (the commercially published edition appeared in 1947). Sessions was an important New York 12-tone composer who won the Pulitzer Prize for music. ISBN: 281AIB1035642.
First edition (first printing). A near fine copy in spiral-bound wrappers (paperback). Inscribed by Sessions in 1944 to Albert Elkus, who brought the composer to UC Berkeley, where Sessions taught for many years. A scarce book, with no copies of this 1942 edition on OCLC. A second version of the score (piano only - your cataloguer believes), printed on a single accordion-fold sheet, is laid in. This edition is also unrecorded. [JSP02]
