FOW! and Other Fingerprints
First Edition
Philadelphia: Dorrance & Company, 1966. 48 pages. The author's first book, a collection of poems. According to his obituary in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, Warfel (1932-2011) moved to Alaska in 1958. He founded the Arctic Circle Theater and "was one of the original five of Alaska's Flying Poets," about which your humble cataloguer would like to know more. Uncommon. ISBN: 281AIB1038160.
First edition (first printing). A fine hardcover copy; no dust jacket, probably as issued. This copy is inscribed to Donald Kaufmann, a professor of English at the University of South Florida. Before moving to Florida, Kaufmann taught for several years in Alaska, in the mid-1960s, where he apparently met Warfel. The inscription reads, "Don--Thank you for all your delicate shadings while this preface was being made. Ken."
