[My Chinese Marriage] Asia: The American Magazine on the Orient, June and July 1921
New York: Asia Publishing Company, 1921. The first two, of four, installments of Watkins' account of marrying a Chinese man at the height of the anti-Asian sentiment in the US. Her story was ghostwritten by a young Katherine Anne Porter and serialized in four issues of Asia magazine (the first two of which are present here). The following year, the magazine pieces would be collected and published as a book of the same name, which is generally credited as Porter's first book.
