Recipes promoting the physical, moral, and spiritual benefits of a diet based on shredded wheat. Henry D. Perky (1843-1906) was the inventory of machinery for manufacturing what he called "little whole wheat mattresses" and his Cereal Machine Company, including its New Era Cooking School, was eventually absorbed into the Nabisco conglomerate. Dated from notice of OPA price controls of April 1943 (during WWII, the federal government regulated prices to curb war profiteering). The menu offers an interesting guarantee: if a patron ordered an unfamiliar item and didn't like it, the food could be exchanged for something else at no charge.
