    Map 3: J. N. Lentell Map of Eureka Humboldt County, Cal. 1904. 54 by 57-1/4. One map on four sheets mounted to a cloth backing on tin rollers. Probably made from an earlier map; printed cancels cover the year and several ownership blocks. Showing block and lot numbers. Earliest printing of this map on OCLC is 1888. Lentell was an engineer. 2-inch hole at bottom of map (but not through cloth backing) at border not affecting text. Vertical seam a bit off on top half. ISBN: 281AIB1047404.

    San Francisco: (Sunset Publishing House), 1912. A poem commissioned by the Klamath Falls, Oregon, Chamber of Commerce, which described the scenery from Mt. Shasta north. This is its first separate publication. One imagines this was some sort of effort to curry favor with Wendling, a successful lumberman. Wendling began working in the Fresno area and by the time this book was published, had operations in Wendling (Mendocino County; now Navarro), Weed, and other Northern California lumber towns. This is one of 500 copies. ISBN: B007FC59UW.

    First edition (first printing). Covers a bit grubby from handling, else near fine in a very good slipcase (uncommon thus). This copy is inscribed in purple ink to Charles Ruggles, a lumberman from Manistee, Michigan.
